Think Europe played a key role in organizing and delivering a regional workshop on investment screening held at Jable, near Ljubljana, in cooperation with the U.S. Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Energy, CEISD Romania, and the CELIS Institute.
The workshop brought together delegations from Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Romania, and Ukraine to discuss trends and challenges in developing and implementing robust investment screening regimes.
Organizers framed investment screening as a critical tool for enhancing economic resilience and addressing emerging national security concerns worldwide, with the Ljubljana workshop offering participating countries a chance to exchange experiences and align approaches across the wider region.
